More about the Kick-Start Your Writing (in one weekend)
Verity Club,Toronto, January 20-21, 2018 (9:30 AM – 4 PM daily)
Do you want to write a book or have already begun but lack structure, tools and inspiration to see it through? Don’t know what to wish for this Christmas or maybe for your birthday?
How about this: A weekend in January dedicated to your writing in the company of a small group of other writers or aspiring writers. All genres welcome!
Come and join us in Toronto next month! Our early bird registration offer has been extended until the end of December!!! We'll give you a special discount if you bring a friend.
Do you have a story to tell? Perhaps you’ve crafted the outline of a suspenseful thriller or a romantic novel? Or maybe you simply want to capture your family’s story to share with future generations?
If you’ve got the ideas for a great book, but just need a little direction and the practical tools to get started, join us for a special two-day Kick-Start Your Writing (in one weekend!) workshop at the Verity Club in Toronto in January.
During this two-day program, you will discover:
- What is my writing style?
- Who am I writing my book for and what is its purpose?
- How do I best structure my project?
- How can I stay motivated to continue my writing?
The program has many tools to help participants clear their minds and unblock creativity, including three effective methods for structuring your writing project. And through group, individual and paired work, you will get your story outlined and ready to be written in just one weekend.
Author and writers’ coach, Helle Brisson, MA, and Kristi Stangeland, mindfulness trainer and retreat organizer, are offering a weekend Kick-Start Your Writing program in Toronto for aspiring book writers of all genres who lack the experience, structure and motivation to achieve their writing goals.
The program overview:
During the weekend we will demonstrate/ teach three very specific, useful and easily applicable techniques to structure and finish your writing project. Theory will be combined with exercises such as "perception of your reality," communication with your reader, writers‘ meditations and lots of useful tips and ideas for your continuous creative process.
Each participant will have the opportunity to share some written pages with fellow writers and in plenum and critique will be given in a caring, respectful and encouraging environment.
Typical insecurities, such as writer’s block, fear of sharing and others will be addressed and discussed as every writer and aspiring writer has been, or still is, going through most of these emotions during their writing process.
Helle has lived and worked across Europe and the US giving her students an inspirational and creative “nudge” to get their stories onto paper. She brings her unique writing and coaching talents along with a life’s worth of stories about remarkable people and experiences. Helle: www.hellebrisson.com
To help ensure your completion of your writing project after the weekend is over, we will be organizing a closed Facebook support group and offering personal coaching and follow-up. A follow-up event will be offered next July at the idyllic Indian Point lakeside resort in Rangeley, Maine, July 11-15, 2018.

What people are saying about Helle Brisson’s writer’s courses...
"Helle's writer's course was exactly what I needed. In her wonderfully attentive and exciting way, Helle taught us how books are created, and I couldn't wait to get started myself. I brought really practical tools home with me that were easy to understand and for me to apply to my writing process. When I arrived at the course I wanted to be a writer, and when I left I had become one!
Helle helped me understand that being a writer starts from within. Thank you, Helle."
"Last May, I participated in a 4 hours' writer’s workshop "Spin your Own Story" taught by Helle Brisson. During those three hours, I found more inspiration than I ever received at other workshops that lasted over a weekend! Thank you so much for that! I highly recommend Helle’s workshop if you need an inspirational and creative "nudge" forward in your writing process."
"I strongly recommend Helle Brisson's writer’s course. There is plenty of content and inspiration to take away from the work methods she taught us. You will leave with concrete ideas on how to move ahead with your own writing."
"I highly recommend Helle's writer’s course. Helle's teaching style is very authentic and inspiring, and gives the student a feeling of being a writer right from the get go! She gives you tools that are easily applicable when you get home from the course and start working on your own writing project. I wish I’d had those tools and methods when I started writing years ago. I stopped back then because I felt frustrated and stuck in the process. Now I know what it takes to move ahead.
An extra bonus is that the tools Helle gives us can be used in many other areas of daily life.”
“ Thank you for teaching me the healing power of writing!”
